Law firm revenues up – driven by consolidation

Research by Deloitte shows that turnover at Britain’s 100 largest law firms rose 6.3% on average in the last fiscal year. The rise was driven by mergers among the smaller to midsize firms with lawyers “cautiously optimistic” the market will continue to improve. Income from non-partner lawyers was up 2% for the year that ended April 30 2015, but 75% of this was attributed to a greater number of lawyers because of consolidation rather than a higher demand for legal services
