Judges urged to quit Garrick

The leading public law and human rights barrister Dinah Rose, QC, has called for judges and lawyers to leave the Garrick Club. She says that membership of an institution that bars women members is "incompatible" with their duties in public office. After a decision this week to continue the club's men-only policy, Judge Rose urged senior legal professionals, such as Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, president of the Supreme Court, to reconsider membership of the club.
